Mushonga was born in Village Way in Borrowdale, Brook Harare, Zimbabwe. He acquired the nickname "Ndege Boy" after media reports alleged he was the youngest Zimbabwean to own an airline. "Ndege" is the Shona word for an aeroplane.
Mushonga's net worth is estimated to be around $5 million. His wealth is reportedly derived from investments in the South African transport and logistics industry. In May 2021, Mushonga partnered with South African actress Khanyi Mbau to launch 2K Business Centres, a rental office space venture located in Sandton. He is also known for owning a collection of luxury vehicles, which includes Ferraris, Bentleys, Rolls Royces, and Range Rovers.
Mushonga has been the subject of several legal and criminal allegations:
Mushonga is in a high-profile relationship with South African actress Khanyi Mbau, who is seven years his senior. The couple made their relationship public on Instagram in February 2021 and have appeared together on the Netflix reality series Young, Famous and African.
The relationship experienced a publicized rift in August 2021 after the couple moved to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to start a business together. During the trip, Mbau left a salon and took a flight back to South Africa without informing Mushonga, which led him to post emotional videos on Instagram expressing his distress. The couple later reconciled and have since gotten matching tattoos of each other's names.
